Features like that require databases and are much more complex.<\/p>\n<h4>To password protect directories<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>In Plesk, in the area for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cheapdomainregistration.com\/\">domain name&#8217;s<\/a> website you want to use, click\u00a0<strong>Show More<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Password-Protected Directories<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Add Protected Directory<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the\u00a0<strong>Directory name<\/strong>\u00a0(starting at the root of your domain name) and the\u00a0<strong>Title of the protected area<\/strong>, and then click\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>After protecting the directory, you need to add users that can log in to it.<\/p>\n<h4>To create users<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li>In the\u00a0<strong>Total Protected directories<\/strong>\u00a0area, click the name of the directory you want to use.<\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<strong>Add New Users<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Complete the on-screen fields, and then click\u00a0<strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Now, when browsing to that directory, only visitors that can enter a username and password combination can view its content.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you want to restrict access to directories on your website, you can use your hosting account&#8217;s built-in password protection feature. \u00a0Note:\u00a0This feature does not offer a typical member login experience like a bank or retail site.
