You can upload files \u2014 such as spreadsheets, Word documents, or PDFs (Portable Document Files) \u2014 with Website Builder. Your site’s visitors can then click a button to download that document for offline use. Or if you prefer, you can offer that downloadable file using\u00a0linked text<\/a>\u00a0instead of a button.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Note:<\/strong>\u00a0The files can be no larger than\u00a030MB<\/a>, and this method is not intended for uploading images or audio files. Instead, see\u00a0Add image<\/a>and\u00a0Adding an audio player<\/a>. You\u00a0cannot<\/em>\u00a0upload files ending with htm, html, htmlx, js, asp, aspx, mht, php, exe, gem, xpi or dll.<\/p>\n

  1. Log in to your 1 account.<\/li>\n
  2. In your\u00a0Products<\/strong>\u00a0list, click\u00a0Website Builder<\/strong>, and then click\u00a0Manage<\/strong>next to the account you want to use.<\/li>\n
  3. Once Website Builder launches<\/a>, click\u00a0Edit Site<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  4. Use the page menu to select the page where you want to create a linked button.<\/li>\n
  5. In the left-hand toolbar click\u00a0Button,\u00a0<\/strong>and a button is added to the page.

  6. Click the button on the page and choose\u00a0Settings<\/strong>.

  7. In the\u00a0Settings<\/strong>\u00a0window, next to\u00a0Label<\/strong>, enter the text you want the button to display.

  8. Next to\u00a0Link<\/strong>, click the red arrow, then\u00a0Upload<\/strong>

    \n\u2022 Select a previously uploaded file in the\u00a0Link to<\/strong>\u00a0list.
    \n\u2022 Delete a previously uploaded file by clicking\u00a0Upload<\/strong>\u00a0and then click the file’s trash button in the\u00a0File Manager<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  9. In the\u00a0File Manager,\u00a0<\/strong>click\u00a0Browse<\/strong>\u00a0to find a\u00a0<\/em>file on your local drive.<\/li>\n
  10. After the file is added to the\u00a0File Manager<\/strong>, click it. When the green checkmark appears, click\u00a0Insert<\/strong>.

  11. Close the\u00a0File Manager<\/strong>\u00a0by clicking the\u00a0x<\/strong>\u00a0in the upper right and return to your page.\n

    \u00a0Note:<\/strong>\u00a0If you upload a text or PDF file, you can have it open in a new window by selecting the checkbox below the\u00a0Link<\/strong>\u00a0field. (Other file types, such as a spreadsheet, will simply download rather than opening in a new window.)

  12. After making your choices, click\u00a0Save<\/strong>\u00a0at the bottom of the\u00a0Settings<\/strong>window.<\/li>\n
  13. Click\u00a0Preview<\/strong>\u00a0to see how the button will appear on your website.

  14. When you’re ready, click\u00a0Publish<\/strong>\u00a0and confirm your choice by clicking\u00a0Publish<\/strong>\u00a0again.<\/li>\n
  15. A window displays a link to your site, which you can click to see the published changes. Or click\u00a0Close<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  16. When your page reappears, click\u00a0Exit Preview<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
