Move a domain to another account

If you want to move a domain name from one account with us to another, you’re in the right place to get started – it’s called an Account Change. If you need to move a domain name to a different registrar, see Transfer domain to another registrar.

Required: If you’ve just added Protected Registration and enabled two-step verification on your account, you must wait 72 hours AND cancel Protected Registration before moving your domain to another IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com account.

Required: Your domain must be unlocked before you can begin an account change.

1. Log into your My Products page.
2. If you aren’t automatically directed there, make sure to select the My Products tab.
3. Next to the domain you want to use, click Manage.
4. On the Domains Settings page, below Additional Settings, click Transfer domain to another IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com account.
5. In the Begin Account Change window, enter and re-enter the Email address of the recipient.
6. If you know the recipient’s customer number, select I have… and then enter the account login information. The email address entered mustbe the same email used for the shopper account contact email, notthe domain administrator email.

Note: If you don’t know the new registrant’s login information, leave this field blank, and then select Enter new details.

In Domain’s contact information, select one of the following:
Note: The new registrant’s Customer # or login name might be required or optional depending on what you select here. For Enter new details, it’s optional. For all other options, it’s required. If entered, the value must match information on file in the receiving account.
- Enter new details — Enter contact information for the new registrant.
- Use details from specified customer account — Use contact information from the account you entered in step 6. (This won’t work until the specified customer has setup their settings page to include all necessary information.)
- Do not change — Retain the contact information currently assigned to the domain name you’re moving. Selecting Do Not Change will not prompt the ICANN Change of Registrant email to be sent for either party, gaining or losing.
  Note: If moving a country-code top-level domain name (ccTLD), you might have to select this option and have the new registrant contact our support department to update the contact information. While contact information is updating, the domain will show a status of Pending Update, and the change of account will not proceed until the change is complete. For more information, see About ccTLDs (Country-Code Domain Names).
Select Keep the current nameservers for this domain to retain the current nameservers for the domain name. If you don’t select this option, we park the domain name when the new registrant activates it in the new account.
Note: Any nameserver change will bring a live site down. Additionally, the domain name loses any custom DNS when it moves to the new account.
Click Next.
If you selected Enter new details, complete the following, and then click Next:
- Organization (Optional) — The organization with which the new registrant is affiliated, if any
- I certify that the specified organization… (Optional) — Indicates you agree that the organization will be the legal registrant
- First name and Last name — The new registrant’s first and last name
- Address 1 and 2 — The new registrant’s street address
- Country — The country in which the new registrant resides
- City, State, Postal Code — The new registrant’s city, state, and ZIP code
- Phone — The new registrant’s phone number
- Fax (Optional) — The new registrant’s fax number
Note: We display a list of the services that we’ll cancel after you move the domain name from your account. You can’t reverse a cancellation after you agree to the move. There will be a 10-day transfer lock after the domain is moved into a new account.
Read the Domain Name Change of Registrant Agreement, and, if you agree to the terms, select I have read and agree to the Domain Name Change….
Note: When you change the Organization or the First name or the Last name (in the absence of an Organization entry), you must agree to a 60-day lockdown to continue. If you have a .au domain name, a 60-day lock will not apply.
If you want to transfer your domain name during the 60-day period, decline the Change of Registrant and transfer your domain name before updating the Organization, First name, or Last name fields. Otherwise, select I understand that, if I want to transfer this domain….
Click Finish. If you selected Do Not Change in step 7 above, you are finished and the gaining customer will need to accept your domain account changes. If you selected Enter New Details, or Use details from specified customer account, please see the note below.

Note: If you selected either Enter new details or Use details from specified customer account in step 7 above, you must click on the link contained in an email sent by IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com to the email address on the Registrant WHOIS contact for the domain(s) you are moving. If you do not click this link (which affirms the change of Registrant information for the change of account), the domain name will not move out of your account and will remain in a pending update status.

Once the email link affirming the change of registrant is clicked, the domain will move to the gaining customer’s account and they will be able to accept the domain name.

If you are moving a domain that has privacy enabled, the privacy will be removed in the process and you will need to purchase it again once the move is complete.

Transfer your domain to another registrar is NOT hard.

The process for transferring a domain name registered with IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com to another registrar is not hard, but it does take time. You’ll complete some steps with IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com and some steps with the new registrar. The total process can take up to 10 days to complete.

Note: You’re not eligible to transfer a domain for a 60-day period after the following events:

• Registering or transferring a domain name
• Updating the registrant contact’s organization
• Updating the registrant contact’s first or last name and an organization is not listed

You’re not eligible to transfer a domain for a 10-day period after changing your domain from one IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com account to another via the Account Change Process.

To Transfer Domain Names to Another Registrar

Complete the following steps with IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com

Required: If you’ve just enabled two-step verification on your account, you must wait 72 hours before transferring your domain to another registrar.

Verify contact information: Verify that the administrator’s contact information for the domain is correct (or registrant’s email for .au domains). All emails regarding the transfer will go to the administrator’s email (or registrant’s email for .au domains). To review and edit your contact information, see Change domain contact information.
Unlock your domain
Cancel Protected or Private registration: If the domain has Protected Registration or Private Registration, you’ll need to cancel it. For more information, see Cancel Protected Registration or Cancel Private Registration.

Complete the following steps with your new registrar

Get an authorization code: Check with your new registrar to see if you need an authorization code (EPP code). If you need one, see Get an authorization code to transfer my domain to another registrar.
Note: Many country-code top-level domain names (ccTLDs) don’t require an authorization code. However, there are a few exceptions where you’ll need to contact customer support to get an authorization code. For more information, see Authorization codes to transfer ccTLDs

For .uk domain transfers, please contact customer support and have the IPS tag of the new registrar (get this from your new registrar) ready when you call.
Initiate the transfer: At the new registrar, initiate the transfer and provide the authorization code, if needed. This is different for each registrar, so you may need to consult the other registrar’s help or support for specific instructions.

Check the domain’s administator’s email

Accept or deny the transfer: IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com will email you instructions to complete the transfer. If you do not accept or deny the transfer request within five days, IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com will automatically accept the transfer for you. Receive confirmation: IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com will email you confirmation when the transfer is complete

How do I resend the transfer confirmation email to my updated admin email address?

When you purchase a domain name transfer to us, we send a confirmation email required to complete the transfer to your administrative contact’s (admin) email address as listed in the Whois database.

Note: We send a confirmation email to the registrant contact’s email address associated with .au domains.

If you recently changed your admin email address at your current registrar, you can resend the confirmation email to it from your account with us. If your account with us is not displaying the correct admin email address after you change it at your current registrar, you can update our records and then resend the confirmation email.

– Log in to your CheapDomainRegistration.com account.
– Next to Domains, click Manage.
– From the Domains menu, select Transfers-In:
– Check transfer in status

Select the domain name you want to resend the confirmation email for and click View Action.
Click Resend Email.

Get an authorization code to transfer my domain to CheapDomainRegistration.com

If you are transferring a domain to IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com, you might need a domain transfer authorization code (also known as an EPP code or transfer key) from your current registrar.

Some registrars display the authorization code in your account with them, while others email it upon request to the administrative contact’s email address for your domain name. If you have a .au domain name, transfer-related information will go to the registrant contact’s email address.

Contact your current registrar to get your authorization code.

Note: Some domain name extensions, primarily country-code top-level domain names (ccTLDs), do not require authorization codes.

Cheap Domain Transfer To CheapDomainRegistration.com

It’s not difficult to transfer your domain name to IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com. You’ll complete some steps with your current registrar, and some steps with IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com.

Note: You’re not eligible to transfer a domain for a 60-day period after the following events:

• Registering or transferring a domain name
• Updating the registrant contact’s organization
• Updating the registrant contact’s first or last name and an organization is not listed

Complete the following steps with your current registrar:

-Unlock the domain name.
– Get an authorization code (also known as an EPP code or transfer key) from your current registrar.
– Verify contact information: Confirm that the administrator’s contact information for the domain is correct. All emails regarding the transfer will go to the administrator’s email.
Note: For .au domains, all transfer information is sent to the registrant contact’s email.

– Cancel Protected or Private registration: If the domain has Protected Registration or Private Registration, you’ll need to cancel it.

Complete the following steps at IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com:

Purchase a domain name transfer from our website. We will send you a message if the extension is not available to transfer.
Note: If you purchased a .uk .ca, .eu, .es, .au, or .se domain name transfer, see their respective About articles for additional transfer instructions.

Once you purchase the transfer, you’ll be prompted to Unlock the domain and Get authorization code. Enter the authorization code in the space provided and follow the prompts to check-out.

– Check your email: Once you’re finished with your purchase, check the domain name’s administrative contact (admin) email (or registrant contact’s email for .au domains) for an email from IFindHost – CheapDomainRegistration.com. To authorize your transfer, simply click on the Approve button that appears in the email. That’s it!
Note: The transfer process can take 7 to 10 days to complete.

Cheap Domain Registration – Cancel Protected Registration

If you want to remove Protected Registration from your domain name, how you do so depends on how long ago you purchased it:

Purchased more than 5 days ago

Before you can remove Protected Registration, you will need to enable two-step verification in your account if you haven’t done so already. Once you enable it, you will need to wait 72 hours before you can cancel Protected Registration.

To cancel Protected Registration (after 72 hours):

1 – Go to the Domain Settings page.
2 – On the Domain Settings page, under Additional Settings, click remove – Protected Registration.
3 – Click Remove Protected Registration.

4 – We’ll send you a 6-digit verification code as part of your two-step verification process. When you receive it, enter that code:

Cheap Domain Registration – What is Protected Registration?

Protected Domain Registration is a premium service you can apply to many of the domain names you purchase or already registered with us. The service helps ensure that you retain registration of your domain name, regardless of expiration dates or attempts to transfer.

Note: Domain registrations with protected registration will automatically renew. The renewal settings cannot be changed and the service cannot be canceled without the listed registrant submitting documentation.

With Protected Registration, you receive:

Domain Name Ownership Protection — Protects you from losing your domain name if you forget to renew it, or if we can’t charge your credit card. If you fail to renew your domain name, we hold it for up to one year. During that time, your domain name is in an inactive, protected status with a parked page. We do not keep your related services running if your domain name renewal lapses. To rescue the domain name during the protected status period, you must pay any renewal fees for your domain name and Protected Registration.
Deadbolt Transfer Protection — Puts your domain name on lockdown, making it impossible for any inadvertent, accidental, or malicious transfer. Unlike regular domain name locking, which occurs at the registry level, Deadbolt Transfer Protection offers an even higher level of security — we lock your domain name in your account.

Cancel Private Domain Registration

When you cancel Private Domain Registration, your personal information, including your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number, displays publicly in the Whois database.

Warning: Private Registration cancellations are irreversible. If you cancel the domain itself, Private Registration is automatically removed. Additionally, you can’t transfer private registration from one domain to another.

Required: If you’ve just added Protected Registration and enabled two-step verification on your account, you must wait 72 hours AND cancel Protected Registration before removing Privacy.

1 – Go to the Domains Settings page.
2 – Under Contact Information, click Remove Privacy.

3 – Click Yes, Remove Privacy.
When you cancel Private Registration, your personal information, including your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number, displays publicly in the Whois database.

Warning: Private Registration cancellations are irreversible. If you cancel the domain itself, Private Registration is automatically removed. Additionally, you can’t transfer private registration from one domain to another.
